Baijiu is the most commonly consumed spirit in the world - but you'd be forgiven for not having heard of it as it's not yet that commonplace in the UK. China's national spirit is a fascinating category, with a huge variation in style, production method and base material. Largely made from sorghum or rice, this spirit is usually split into 4 major categories : light aroma, strong aroma, rice aroma and sauce aroma. It is wildly different from our local spirits, and this is a very exciting chance to learn more about it and understand how these incredible flavours are created.
To host this tasting, we are VERY lucky to have a baijiu specialist right here in Bristol! Ben Salguero - owner of Baijiu cocktail bar Jaded Dragon will be joining us to share his expertise on the subject and guide us through a tasting of 6 distinct styles of Baijiu.
