Ichiro’s Malt is the standalone brand created by Ichiro Akuto—founder of Chichibu Distillery—which became a vehicle for using the remaining casks from his grandfather’s now-closed Hanyu distillery. This unique blend combines whiskies from Chichibu and Hanyu, offering drinkers a rare opportunity to taste Hanyu alongside modern Chichibu in one package.
Wine Wood Reserve is matured in French oak barrels with a finishing period in ex-Japanese red wine casks and then moved into custom-made Ovum barrels by Taransaud coopers in Charentes. The result is a blended malt where fruity notes meet oak tannins and subtle spice.
