Chichibu The Peated 2026

Chichibu is a true craft distillery founded in Japan in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto. Unique in their use of Mizunara oak washbacks, and revered for their commitment to traceability, and control of the whisky making process, this is a highly sought after single malt. 

Peated spirit at 50ppm is produced for just 1 month a year at Chichibu, and the majority is used in blending, so this fully peated expression is very limited, being made up of just 40 casks: mainly bourbon barrels, with a touch of sherry. It's elegant and smoky with fresh green flavours of apples and freshly cut grass alongside almonds, baking spices and caramel.
