The Glasgow Distillery Company revived the city’s whisky heritage when it opened in 2015 in Hillington, marking the return of distillation to Glasgow since the early 19th century. Named after the original Dundashill distillery founded in 1770, the distillery has earned acclaim—including Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year in 2020—for its commitment to traditional production methods and modern innovation.
Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled takes the unusual step of distilling its spirit three times in copper pot stills and then marrying whisky aged in ex‑bourbon and virgin American oak casks. This extra distillation produces a light and bright character that still retains complexity. Expect aromas of orchard fruits, vanilla and white chocolate; the palate brings creamy caramel, pear, apricot and gentle baking spice before finishing with honeyed oak and warm wood tones.
