James Eadie dates back to 1854, originally known as a brewer and whisky merchant based in Glasgow. Today, the name has been revived by independent bottlers who focus on highlighting single cask whiskies from a variety of Scottish distilleries. Their releases often feature rare or unusual casks that might otherwise go unnoticed, giving whisky fans a chance to explore different regions and styles through authentic expressions.
Tamnavulin is a Speyside distillery established in 1966, renowned for producing rich and smooth single malts with a distinctive character. This expression was matured for 10 years, including an 8-month finish in a first-fill European oak Malaga hogshead, imparting depth and complexity to the whisky. The flavour profile reveals aromas of zesty marmalade, cacao, honeyed dates, and roasted coffee beans, leading to a palate of sticky ginger cake, spiced sultanas, waxed citrus, and candied peels, finishing with sweet spice, rich oak, and tangy citrus notes.
