Kilchoman Machir Bay

Kilchoman is one of the youngest distilleries on Islay, founded in 2005 with a focus on traditional, farm-to-bottle production. Situated on the west coast of the island, Kilchoman combines local barley cultivation with onsite malting and distillation, resulting in a distinctly artisanal whisky that captures Islay’s smoky and maritime character.

Machir Bay is Kilchoman’s flagship expression, named after a nearby golden sand beach. It is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, offering a vibrant balance of smoky peat, fresh fruit, and coastal brine. The whisky displays notes of citrus, vanilla, and seaweed with a long, warming finish that reflects the rugged island environment.
