Never Say Die
Never Say Die
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey | 47.5% | 70cl
This bourbon follows the same journey as legendary racehorse Never Say Die. Revived from a near death experience at birth by a shot of whisky up the nose, the young racehorse was later sent to England, entered into the 1954 Epsom derby and became the first American horse to win the race, at 33-1 odds. Across England in Liverpool, Mona Best put everything she had on the race, and won a small fortune allowing her to open up the Casbah Coffee Club, where The Quarrymen - later to become the Beatles made their first performances. Quite the story and quite the bourbon to honour it!
The whiskey is made in Kentucky, partially aged during its Atlantic journey before finishing maturation in England. This small batch bourbon has a high rye content and a completely unique ageing process.
