Whisky. Music. Mischief. Join blues and whisky tasting duo The Rhythm and Booze Project for a special evening combining raucous blues and the best whisky!

We are beyond excited to host this hugely respected show at Spirited - this is a combination gig and whisky tasting, featuring an OPEN WHISKY BAR (you read that right) boasting a large selection of premium Scottish single malts as well as other whiskies from around the world. Your hosts Paul and Felipe will be doing what what they do best as a gritty duo, both as musicians and whisky professionals, providing an experience they like to call part gig, part tasting, and part house party.

Get ready to appreciate a selection of truly world class drams, enjoy some rowdy live blues, and learn how to sound smart whenever you're drinking whisky for the rest of your life.

There are an extremely limited number of spaces, so book now. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the show kicks off at 8pm. We also recommend you make sure to get something to eat beforehand!

About The Rhythm and Booze Project

"The Rhythm and Booze Project's unique approach to playing the best blues and serving the tastiest whisky will truly lift your spirits." - Whisky Magazine

"Kicking off the show with a dram and a song, the crowd quickly loosened up as both performers' knowledge, talent and charm had the audience nosing, tasting and bobbing their heads or tapping their feet along to the music." - Edinburgh Live

The Rhythm and Booze Project features Felipe and Paul, a duo fusing live music and whisky through gigs, tasting events, and multimedia experiences.

As a musical outfit, the band incorporates roots, folk, and blues music in a uniquely gritty mix of its own, blending hypnotic grooves with raucous energy and irresistible showmanship.

For their whisky tasting events, Felipe and Paul merge performance, live music, and multi-sensory experiences. Past projects include building the world's first whisky cask bass drum using a barrel from the Lagavulin distillery, writing and performing their hit show blues and whisky '2 Guys, 3 Drams' at the Edinburgh Fringe, and performing at many whisky distilleries and festivals.

With five professional degrees between them, Felipe and Paul have an academic background to match. Felipe wrote his Masters degree thesis on sustainable distillation on Islay conducting field interviews after Islay's Feis Ile whisky festival, while Paul has completed a PhD in the history of jazz drumming and the drum kit in New Orleans.

Felipe is also a leading writer about all aspects of whisky for top industry publications including the websites distiller.com and scotchwhisky.com, and also writes about whisky for Forbes.com. He has won the 2022 Icons of Whisky Communicator of the Year award, and is also a Keeper of the Quaich.
