Torabhaig is the Isle of Skye’s second licensed distillery, founded in 2017 by Sir Iain Noble and operated by Mossburn Distillers in a restored 19th-century farmhouse at Teangue. Their Legacy Series traces the evolution of their whisky from early experimental releases to more mature expressions, with Cnoc Na Mòine representing the third chapter in this journey.
Cnoc Na Mòine, which means “hill of peat” in Gaelic, is a heavily peated single malt that introduces Sherry cask maturation to the series. It was matured in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. The whisky has a gentle peat smoke, balanced with citrus zest, vibrant fruit and a subtle sherry richness.
