Wire Works Necessary Evil Stout Finish | 2025 Release

White Peak Distillery, located in Derbyshire’s Peak District, is the maker behind Wire Works whisky. Drawing on the region’s industrial heritage and natural resources, the distillery produces small-batch single malts using lightly peated malt and copper pot stills. The team focuses on flavour development through fermentation and cask selection, with sustainability and transparency at the heart of their process.

This limited release was a collaboration with local Thornbridge brewery, where their Necessary Evil stout was matured in Bourbon casks that previously held Wire Works lightly peated whisky, before being sent back to allow for a second maturation of the whisky in stout cask. The result is complex, dark, full bodied and rich. Another triumph from White Peak.
